The focus on this episode was to know more about the 00 Unit, not just how Yuuko created her artificial body, but also how her relationship with Takeru is improving overtime, we also get to hear a few small details about her past. The pacing on this episode was really good, i could argue that a few scenes with Takeru and captain Isumi should've been included, but the anime did so well in sharing so much info about the 00 Unit in a single episode while not feeling rushed for me, so i can't complain honestly.

Now the 00 Unit has two bunnies watching over her, Takeru's Christmas present bunny and Kasumi. That moment with Yuuko revealing that the BETA surprise attack was part of her plan was yet another test of Takeru's fortitude. Yuuko remains one of the best characters in Muv-Luv in my opinion.

The Shiranuis are here, the battle simulations are going well, and Takeru's resolve is only getting stronger. With Yuuko's confirmation at the end of the episode, we're off to war really soon. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Interesting episode. While the reveal that the brain was Sumika of this world. And Takeru found out this worlds version of him was killed. I wonder if they will wade in on the controversial aspect of what happened to Sumika.

I know the first time I read it, I was like Hoe Lee Shidd!!! Far worse than anything you can imagine the Nine Circles of Hell can dream up. For those that never played the game, and I am one of them. I scoured wikis of the series by dedicated fans and that's how I know.

And if the anime reveals this subject matter, then it will make sense why Sumika is the way she is.

The opening will never cease to get me immersed and ready for the show. It really hits you with the tone of the war they are in and something that really fits well with the anime in my point of view and opinion plus its a banger.

All this rush is painful to watch... but at least the episode was pretty decent, and all I have to say is that there's a very big reason for why Alternative Sumika despises the BETA so much, sure she revealed that Takeru was killed by them... but she didn't explained the circumstances just yet.

As to what those circumstances were and why Sumika was reduced to nothing but a brain... well, ya'll have to wait till that gets revealed later on, but it's something that's gonna be very shocking... especially for animeonlis.

So messed up that both of them are having their psyche messed with and honestly if I were him I would have put a bullet in that wench head she deserves it. She knew he had already seen many people die before him and yet she still plotted to traumatize him again. Because she wanted to turn him into a puppet.

so everyone expect sumika died.. and for some freaked up reason the beta decided to take sumika to their hive.. it was a weird attenpt of the beta to interact with humans… they ended up ra**ing (those chomp betas and the red small ones ) and then when they got bored the started eating her slowly until her brain remaind.. thats how they found the brain when humans took over that hive which is the base they are living in now…

Thats not how it went bud, either you clearly did not play the VN or heard or read some incomplete wiki!
What really happened was that Sumika and around another group of 100 pilots (females mostly) were taken by the BETA (which are autonomous AI sent to collect information and technology and exterminate any threat that is not based on Silicium based living beings, like their creators)
into one of their hives and experimented on( sexual experiments on our human perception, but to the BETA perception it was what makes these creatures move or tick) and
Sumika was the last remaining “specimen” for the BETA to experiment on and when she was “stimulated” by a specially tailored BETA unit for information, they went further than what is humanly possible and found out that the electrical signals in the human brain are more important than the side effect of “stimulation” and basically Sumika was taken apart, piece by piece until the BETA was only stimulating the electric synapses in Sumika’s brain and somehow memories and certain behavioural instincts were imprinted on her, then after that she was found by another scout team later on.

You forgot to share that the BETA were harnessing all this electric signals of the brain as a potential energy source as the brains inside these pods were connected to their reactors.
